There really is not a “typical” client. People from all walks of life and social status come to us seeking advice on their personal style.
What we do find is there are common themes on why they seek us out. So let’s hear in the words of our clients some of the “typical” themes:
- Brave enough to say “this isn’t my strength”
“Extremely helpful for those of us who have no idea where to start – saves a lot of “stress”
- Values someone who sees them differently
“She suggested clothing that in the past I wouldn’t of consider, however as she educated me on my body shape throughout the consultation I could adjust my thought process around this. I was so happy with my experience” – Joanne
- Is time poor!
“I am time poor, live over 2 hours from Melbourne and don’t really like shopping, although I love clothes. Being able to tell what I need, combined with her ability to be in tune with my style but also push me a little bit, her knowledge of what is where and what looks good on me makes the 2 hour session an absolute joy” – Hilary
- Doesn’t enjoy shopping (You’d be surprised how often this comes up!)
“I detest shopping, but by the time we had finished the experience, I had the confidence and the know how to shop for garments that suited my shape and age” – Christine
- Special event – wants to look great but where to start?
You were awesome!!! Thank you so so much for taking away the headache of finding a black tie dress. My outfit was stunning on the night” – Amanda
- Tired of buying the same pieces over and over (and keep making the same mistakes)
“She provided me with valuable insight into my body shape and the clothes that may/may not suit my body type. This is particularly important going forward so I stop picking clothing items that are not flattering and remain unworn in my wardrobe” – Premila
- Change/acceptance – on a personal journey
“She opened my eyes and enabled me to see myself in a better positive way. Whilst she understood that I am doing this change in baby steps, she also encourages me to embrace it. Now I know what to look for when I go shopping. We did purchase few clothes and I still keep smiling when I see what I bought on the day and I can’t wait to try them all” – Inggrid
- Wanting to be rejuvenated (reaching aging milestones)
“She was sensitive to my lack of confidence and suggested things that challenged me but were suitable for my age and personality” – Virginia
- Young mums and people with body changes
“I have a 19mth old, and a 10 year old daughter, putting myself ‘back together’ after the baby was food for my soul” – Jen
So, some common themes definitely run through, and very often there is an emotional component but mostly a “typical” client can be anybody!
And, nothing motivates us, as stylists, more than a client who comes away from time with us needs met, feeling and looking amazing in their own body.
